One of my favorite phrases, being a perfectionist of course, is:
“Never let it rest
Till the good is better
And the better is best!”
OK, so it may be a bit Type A on my part, but I’m definitely a competitive spirit! Part of that “better is best” part of doing my business is to commit myself to continuously learning about my business, my industry, and my areas of expertise. Well, sometimes it’s easier than other times. Some days I’m so wiped out that it’s hard for me to stay on top of my continued learning, but I find that if I just read a little something each day to improve my knowledge sometimes I finding something really inspiring. Then when I’m inspired I feel less tired and actually quite jazzed!
For instance, it’s now almost 7 pm. It’s the end of a quite long day (I often get up at 3 am) but I had committed to reading at least 2 chapters in a new ebook I just bought. So I just took a deep breath and dived in. I read chapters 5 and 6 tonight (they’re short chapters) and suddenly got all jazzed about one of the chapters — on forum marketing. What I loved was the step-by-step instructions … now those really get me jazzed up and ready to go. I can Google stuff like the dickens to find out how to do something, but it takes time and I like anything that gives me a shortcut. So I of course added the first two steps of forum marketing to my list for tomorrow. And I really WANT to do it. That’s the cool part about inspiration — no extra motivational fuel required.
So take my advice. Don’t look on “continued education” for your home-based business as something that you “have to do.” It may feel like that sometimes but when the right information crosses your path you will be absolutely fizzing with excitement. And that level of passion is worth a lot! So never let it rest … till the good is better … and the better is best!
Your slightly crazed but jazzed tour guide for this post,
Stephanie
