Internet MLM: Sometimes the Little Things Matter More

beads1Internet MLM: Sometimes the Little Things Matter More

On this blog I talk about a lot of the big keys to success for an internet MLM business, including being passionate about your MLM opportunity, finding your online voice, and having a hero or two to follow. These are “big things” for your internet MLM business, and they are crucial.

But sometimes the difference between success and failure in an internet MLM business is defined by the little things that you do for your business. Here are some little things that can make a big difference.

Show Up
Yeah, I know. Sometimes the creative well is dry, and the idea of writing yet another article or blog post seems impossible. Show up and do it anyway. Not every post on your MLM blog has to be a home run. Sometimes writing about your “bad hair day” is good enough.

What activities are you committed to for your internet MLM business?

Play By (Some of) the Numbers
I’m pretty much of a rebel so I’m not a “paint by numbers” kind of gal, but I do know which numbers are important. How much time I put into creating a presence for my internet MLM business is important. The number of educational blog posts I write each week makes a difference. How often I interact with others on certain networks matters. My blog and website statistics are key.

Which numbers matter most to your online MLM presence?

Stay Connected
Watching a bunch of pretty boys march around on stage isn’t my gig. No, I don’t mean the Chippendales dancers, I mean the motivational speakers at most MLM events. I don’t attend many of those, but I do make efforts to stay connected to my upline team, my company, and the MLM industry. Sometimes it’s as simple as getting on a team webinar. Other times I’ll log into the Networking Times website and read an article, too. It’s not a Herculean effort. All I need to do to keep my internet MLM business going is to stay connected in a small way.

How do you stay connected with your upline, your company, and the industry?

The Little Things and The Rookie Effect
You’ve probably seen the rookie effect in your MLM company, where some newbie explodes onto the scene and hits the top pay level of compensation plan in 30 days. These rookies are very inspiring and very discouraging at the same time. People love to vicariously experience the rookie’s success, which is great, but also get discouraged when they can’t grow their businesses as fast, which is discouraging.

What most people don’t know is that a lot of rookies are not rookies at all. Many of them have tried 5, 10, even 15 other MLM companies before achieving success. What did they do in all those other companies? They perfected the art and science of MLM. They got the big things right … and they practiced the little things. They practiced showing up for their business, figured out which numbers mattered the most, and learned how to stay connected in the right way.

It’s not important to be a rookie, but it is important to learn what these so-called rookies already know. Part of what they know is that the little things matter, a lot! It also takes a bit of practice to turn these little things into regular habits. If you want to create your own rookie effect in your own internet MLM business (no matter how long you’ve been in the business), make those little things daily habits now.
