If you want to create a memorable online MLM presence, one way is to include pictures on your custom website or blog that “say it all” about you.
In the last couple of blog posts I’ve been talking about how to create a unique and personal online home base that attracts people and keeps them coming back. Pictures are a great way to enhance your online presence, and personal pictures of yourself and your life help develop trust and rapport with the people who visit your website or blog.
What Pictures “Say It All”?
It’s always important to have a real picture of yourself somewhere on your website or blog, hopefully in a prominent place. On a custom website, you can easily put one or more pictures on your “About” page. The same goes for your blog. In addition, depending on the layout of your website or blog, you might want to put a picture or two in a sidebar, perhaps above your contact information.
Pictures can be worth a thousand words, especially since you have so little time to make a first impression with online visitors, usually just a couple of seconds. That means choosing the right pictures to include in your online MLM presence is important. You might consider posting pictures of:
- a closeup of your face
- you doing something you love (a hobby or sport)
- something related to topic of your website (for instance, before and after pictures of a dog on a website dealing with dog health)
- something that characterizes your personality (a picture of someone jumping off a cliff with their eyes closed is a good representation of a risk-taker)
- your family and pets
- your baby picture (especially relevant if you are writing a post about “ever since I was a little girl …”)
- your travels
- people in your downline you have helped succeed
Sources for Great Images
Your own archives are a great source for images, of course, and you can simply scan those in (remember that the highest resolution on the web is around 72 dpi, so don’t bother scanning pictures in higher resolutions since they will simply take longer to download when someone visits your website). If you don’t have any suitable pictures in your archives, get your digital image and a friend and come up with some photos.
Other sources for great images are:
Creative Commons: Most of the photos in this section of the Flickr website are free to use so long as proper credit is given, so be sure to read the license and attribution requirements for each photo
Stock Photo Websites: Places like BigStockPhoto and iStockPhoto offer a wealth of images at very low prices, a buck or two per image
Looking for images that “say it all” about you can be quite fun, and can even help you more clearly define why you are special. So enjoy the process, find some great photos, and love the fact that you can indeed often use a picture in place of a thousand words!
