I have often wondered whether it is wiser to promote an online MLM blog that is dedicated solely to either the business or the products, or to mix the two. After doing experiments with each, I have reached the conclusion that it’s not as effective to mix business and product promotions on a blog. It seems easier to promote blogs that are dedicated solely to business or products.
Why Mixing Business with Products Isn’t a Good Idea
While it may be tempting to combine business promotion and product marketing into one online MLM blog, the whole enchilada so to speak, I’ve found at least two reasons this isn’t a good idea.
#1: There are Two Separate Markets
For most MLMs, the business and the products are targeted at separate market niches. To attract business builder partners into your business, you usually need to target one kind of market. This market might include people who are looking for additional income streams, people who have lost their jobs, or stay-at-home moms who want to work online. Very often, these people are not the same people who will be your product customers. Of course, your business partners are going to buy products as a part of their business, but most of the time you also need pure product consumers to increase the size of your commission check, especially in the beginning.
For instance, with my MLM business, the products are natural and organic health food products. Most product sales occur when I promote to the market niche dedicated to healthy living, health food, organic products, and nutritional supplements. Some of the product consumers eventually become business partners, but in the beginning many of these people are repelled by a blog that talks about both natural foods and the business side of MLM. They are more interested in reading a blog that talks solely about healthy living and nutrition.
So while the two markets overlap, with business partners consuming the products and some product consumers eventually becoming business partners, in the beginning the two markets are fairly widely separated. That’s why marketing to each niche separately, with separate blogs, tends to work better. There is, of course, the exception of MLM companies that market business services. In this case, the business and consumer markets tend to be much closer together, and you can write blog posts that mix the two topics yet stay narrowly focused on the topic of business. I have seen people promote successfully to both markets using a single blog. Michael Lemm’s Small Business Resources Café is one example.
#2: Technical Reasons for a Focused Blog
In terms of search engine optimization and rankings on blog sites, such as Technorati or Alltop, having a blog dedicated to a single topic gives you a better chance at visibility than a blog that covers several topics. For one thing, your tags and keywords will be denser and more consistent across all of your posts, which helps a lot with rankings. In addition, you’ll be more quickly recommended as a resource for your niche is your blog is focused, especially in online forums and on social media platforms.
There are other reasons for creating a focused niche blog aside from the two above, but basically this gives you an overview of why a blog focused on either business or product works better than a blog that covers both, especially if you are just getting started. Of course, if you are an online marketing guru with an established presence, you can do just about anything you want. For instance, the other day Chris Brogan posted a request that people watch his daughter’s video on YouTube (part of her homework). Chris can get away with it because he was a mind-blowing following … most of the rest of us can’t. We have to be serious, focused, and go deep into our niches, at least for now.

i think both marketing the product and doing business on the same blog might be difficult to handle~difficult in a sense that the blog itself might lose focus which eventually will also cause confusion to its followers. keeping a blog for each niche would be better.
These are some management which should be processored in this MLM software.
