Happy first day of fall! Yup, Google reminded me of that this morning with a great fall-leaf logo when I logged on. Other people use calendars, but I, having been born with a laptop on my lap instead of a silver spoon in my mouth, use Google for just about everything I can think of.
Fall reminds me that winter will be coming soon and that my schedule will be changing. During the summer months I get up really early (around 3 or 4 am) and try to get a lot of stuff done on the computer for my businesses. I write and answer emails, update the website, write articles for my ezines and for article marketing, and do any sort of analytics I need to on current and past marketing efforts. It’s a very peaceful time to work, especially since I work from my house. No one is calling me or emailing me at that time in the morning. It’s important to have this kind of peace as I have some friends and relatives who persist in thinking that since I work from my house I don’t actually work. They think I just hang out and eat snacks from the kitchen and take a lot of naps. Which is why working so early in the morning really helps. I get a lot of productive work done in a short amount of time. Then when I’m done working for a while, around 8 or so, I go out and ride my horses. After that, it’s lunch, maybe a nap, then another segment in the afternoon–usually for business calls and the like.
But now that fall is here, I’ll probably readjust my schedule. I’ll still get up way early (there’s no more productive time than that) but wait to ride until later in the day, when it’s warmer. Here in Colorado it’s down in the 40s at night and up in the 70s during the day. I’ll probably try to get everything done in the morning, saving an hour or so for the afternoon to make calls and such.
The cool thing is that I get to pick my schedule. I’ve been working out of my house for so long that I no longer remember being at the beck and call of a regular office schedule. I know it happens because I hear my neighbors leave for work every morning but I don’t even remember what it’s like. I am very grateful to have network marketing and home-based business as my source of income. It keeps me home, healthy, and sane!
I say that I can’t remember what it’s like to work out of the office. Back when I worked in any office I couldn’t imagine having the freedom to work out of the house. But it happened over time. I just kept wishing for that freedom and it came about.
If there’s anything you want, be sure to hold the vision about it. Don’t worry about how it’s going to come about, just see it happening and then get on with the next thing you have to do. You may not be able to control your now-time circumstances but if you hold the vision about the future you want you can certainly control your future!
Oh yeah, and as always, if you want to know how the Stream Team and I are able to work from our homes and some of the stuff we’re doing, check out the links in our nav bar (it’s good stuff) or contact us.
Cheerio,
Stephanie
