Your Friday Online MLM Roundup

by Stephanie on May 8, 2009

horsetrailerIt’s Friday again. It’s time to take a deep breath, enjoy the weekend, and then get ready for the coming week. Fridays are good days to consider what happened during the week, what didn’t happen during the week, and what you want to happen this coming week.

Being a cowgirl, I’m often hauling my horses around in my truck-and-trailer rig. When I think about how I’m going to spend the coming week improving my online MLM business, I sometimes use driving the rig as an analogy. Here is what I think about when I use that analogy.

Keep ‘Er Steady, Cowgirl
If everything is going well and you are grooving along in your business, then just keep ‘er steady. Don’t fix what isn’t broken and don’t change the program. If times are good for your business right now, take a moment to analyze exactly what is working.

How many hours are you spending on your business? How are those hours broken down? What marketing activities are working for you, and which have you let go of? Noting these factors about your business is important because you’ll want to pass that on to your team. That way, they can follow in your footsteps and emulate your success.

Put the Pedal to the Metal
If things are not moving along fast enough with your online marketing activities, maybe it’s time to raise the bar. Here’s the thing: do you need to raise the bar for yourself or your people? A lot of times our MLM businesses don’t grow, even when we are taking all the right steps. This happens because we don’t demand that our people take all the right steps with us.

I’m often a tough, gritty, cowgirl, tomboy chick, and I really like to dig in and work at something. I see my business moving and growing as a result of my efforts, but sometimes I’m afraid to ask my people to be as gritty and hard-working as me. That is my weak spot. But, as one of my online MLM mentors likes to remind me, my business won’t grow as fast as I like unless I raise the bar and expect my people to work like I do, especially when they first get started. So often, on Fridays, I look at my work and see that it’s good, but I also see that in the coming week I need to ask my people to step up their efforts. What about you and your group?

Drop Down a Gear for Consistency
And then there are the weeks when everything falls apart and nothing seems to work. After one of these weeks, I often re-evaluate my online MLM efforts to see if I’m trying to cram too much “doing” into too little time. The bad weeks usually happen when I get all excited about a new online marketing technique, and add it to my to-do list.

New innovations are great, but only if they don’t interfere with our consistency of effort. Taking fewer actions more consistently is better than taking more actions sporadically. So, if your online MLM marketing efforts are random at best, it might be time to drop down a gear and aim for a shorter to-do list.

What Do You See This Friday?
So that’s your Friday roundup. Take a look at your week and see how things have been shaping up in your business. Consider what is getting done, what isn’t getting done, what you still want to do, and what you want to release. Then, have a great weekend, refresh, and prepare to dive into the coming week!
